Overview of internship: We are a online library based in Chennai. We are looking at innovative programming minds that will help give a simple but compelling user interface, manage our our readership and build and online community. Day to Day tasks would include:
– Conceptualizing a new design for www.readersnest.com
– Develop and deploy the redesigned website in
1. php/mysql
2. jQuery
3. Dreamweaver
4. photoshop
5. svn
– Maintain the database and optimize the existing schemas
Company profile: We are a startup online library based in Chennai. We have a good collection of books (25 years worth), and a website to get orders. We service the readers at their doorstep. We are currently a family operation, and would like to go to the next step. We are looking for fresh ideas and perspective to market our library.
Details of internship: You will start off with challenges. You will be provided initial ideas to start with. Going further, you are expected to provide innovative concepts and drive them. You will be given a free hand to run the website side of the business. We would be willing to consider go-getter candidates who perform well as part of our business in future. This would mean salaries and/or bonuses.
Desired profile: A php/linux/mysql genius with a flair for photoshop design. Willingness to learn is a must. A programming whiz with a flair for churning out webapps, understanding of end-user requirements. Work experience in open source would be an added plus.
