International-Conference Travel Grant for Students by IBM
What is this:
The IBM IRL supports student travel to select international conferences (see list of conferences), if the student is presenting a paper at the conference. The travel grant covers conference registration fee, air fare, visa fees, health insurance charges, hotel expenses, local travel, and a daily allowance.
Who can apply:
This grant is normally intended for M.Tech./M.S/M.Sc. and Ph.D students from the following institutes:
- BITS Pilani
- IISc, Bangalore
- IIT Bombay
- IIT Delhi
- IIT Guwahati
- IIT Kanpur
- IIT Kharagpur
- IIT Madras
- IIT Roorkee
- IT-BHU
- TIFR
To be eligible, the student should be the primary author of the paper, the paper should be accepted for presentation in a regular track of the conference, and it must be presented by the student
How to apply:
Request your thesis advisor to send an email request to his IBM IRL Collaborator. In case your advisor does not have an IBM IRL Collaborator, the email could be sent either to the IBM IRL contact for your institution or directly to urirl@in.ibm.com. The following documents should be sent along with the request:
- An acceptance letter from the Conference; and
- The final version of the paper.
Your application will be assessed as soon as all the relevant documentation is received by us. Students whose work is part of an on-going collaboration between the thesis advisor and an IBM IRL researcher will be given top priority for travel funding.
When to apply:
Grants are assessed throughout the year and are subject to the availability of funds. See application deadlines.
